Male Lilly White Crested Gecko
Captive Bred | Sub-Adult | Feeding on Pangea & med. crickets
The Crested Gecko, or Correlophus ciliatus, is a popular and charismatic reptile known for its distinctive crest and wide range of color patterns. Native to New Caledonia, these geckos are renowned for their friendly nature and unique appearance. They are nocturnal and thrive in a well-maintained terrarium that mimics their natural habitat.
Husbandry
Enclosure Size: Start with a 12x12x18 terrarium for juveniles. As they grow, increase the size to at least 18x18x24 for adults. This provides ample space for climbing and exploring. For multiple geckos, adjust the enclosure size, accordingly, adding extra space to accommodate each additional gecko.
Lighting Requirement:Crested Geckos need a 12-hour light and dark cycle. Use a low-output UVB bulb (2.0 or 5.0) to support calcium metabolism and overall health. A gentle temperature gradient should be maintained to simulate their natural environment.
Heating Requirement: Maintain a temperature range of 72-78°F (22-26°C) during the day, with a slight drop at night to 65-72°F (18-22°C). Use a low-wattage heat source if necessary to keep the temperature stable without overheating.
Feeding & Vitamins: Feed Crested Geckos small crickets, Discoid roaches, and a high-quality gecko diet powder like Repashy or Pangea. Provide food 2-3 times a week, ensuring that insects are dusted with calcium and vitamin supplements to maintain optimal health.
